FAQs

Greencastle Veterinary Hospital

  • Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are needed as we do not offer any walk-in appointments. Same-day urgent sick appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis and fill up quickly. Please call us at 7 am to try to reserve a same-day urgent sick appointment. If we are at capacity for the day, you may be directed to a veterinary urgent care or emergency hospital.
  • How often should my pet have a check-up?

We advise annual check-ups for most pets. However, puppies, kittens, and older pets may require more frequent examinations to ensure their health and well-being.
  • When should my pet be vaccinated?

The initial core vaccinations typically begin when your pet is 6 to 8 weeks old. Following this, your veterinarian will provide a recommended schedule for booster shots based on your pet's individual needs.
  • Do you offer preventive care?

We provide comprehensive preventive care services, including flea and tick prevention treatments, heartworm testing, and personalized nutritional advice to keep your pet healthy.
  • What should I do in an emergency?

For emergency situations outside our operating hours, please contact Mountain View Animal Emergency or Old Line Urgent Care for immediate assistance.
